What We Believe

WE BELIEVE IN GOD

We believe there is one God who is the Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE IN GOD’S WORD

We believe the Scriptures are God's Word to us and our sole rule of faith and practice. The Word of God is the final authority in all matters on which it speaks. The Word of God leads us into a deeper relationship with God. Since God’s Word is the only completely reliable and truthful authority, we accept the Bible as our manual for living. Our first question when faced with a decision is “What does the Bible say?” We practice daily Bible reading, Bible study, and Bible memorization.

WE BELIEVE IN JESUS

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and was born of a virgin. We believe that He lived a holy and perfect life and was crucified for our sins. He was buried and on the third day, was bodily raised to life and ascended to the right hand of the Father. We believe that He will one day return in power and glory.

WE BELIEVE HUMANITY NEEDS SALVATION

We believe that all people are sinners by God's declaration and by their choice. It is only through Christ and His payment for our sins by His death that we can be saved. We believe that salvation is a free gift from God and cannot be attained apart from His grace received through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that salvation comes when a person hears the Word, believes the Word and responds to the Word in obedience.

WE BELIEVE IN THE CHURCH

We believe that the church is God's plan for this age and that it should operate from the pattern found within the New Testament. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Recognized Head of the church; not any person, group, or religious organization. When Jesus returns He will receive it as His Bride and so we will be with Him forever. We believe the Holy Spirit has been given to the church to guide, correct and empower it.

While recognizing the value of associating and cooperating with other groups of Christians, we believe every local church should be self-governing and independent from any denominational control.
